I watched, the other day, the last episode of BBC series "Emma", from Jane Austen's novel and one of the things that surprised me was to see how awkwardly people socialized in the 19th century... The way they spoke, what social activities there were... and then I wondered: what if we could experience living in another century?
What it would be like to live in a time where all girls treat each others by Miss?
"Miss could you please be as so kind to pass me the jar of water?"

It's like their dialogs were so much more rich and structured - meaningful and true. But that was also an outcome of how society was layered by hierarchy. For me, hearing them speak was more fun from a linguistic point of view because thesedays, we're pretty basic and straightforward when it comes to communicating. Still, there's always room for misunderstanding.
